I am currently a one-man workshop specializing in custom design solid wood furniture and woodturnings. I have been working with wood for almost 25 years and my love of figured wood and natural wood brings me great pleasure.
In my years of experience I have done custom furniture, cabinetry, house building, remodeling and wood turning. I have been making custom pieces of furniture for 15 years, mostly as gifts and special requests. I started Twisted Wood, LLC in 2005 while working as a packaging designer and living in Evansville, WI.
The business is solely under my direction but would have never gotten off the ground if it were not for Kim, my wife. Kim is my business partner as well as the financial guru which allows to me focus on projects. And I also need to mention my shop helpers and future Master craftsmen, Jared and Sara. Sara is pictured on the home page holding one of my vases. They supply the creativity and endless energy for life which inspires many of my pieces.
Each new piece of furniture offers the opportunities for me to be creative and find artistically pleasing solutions to new designs and customer challenges. My love however is still with lathe work. I have been turning wood since 1980 and enjoy the art of taking nature’s piece of wood and finding the naturally beautiful form inside.
In 2003 I designed and built my own wood lathe and called it the “F5 Twister”. This wood lathe is capable of turning 42” in diameter and 27” in length. Every year I search and wander the woods of Wisconsin to find burls to be turned. There are wonderful sources for wood in Wisconsin and I have collected quite a lot of really nice and rare pieces. I do the turning as more of a hobby than to make a living, so please visit my gallery and hopefully you find something you like. I will continue to replace with new pieces as they sell.
My project estimates are free. Give me a call or e-mail me and see if I can design that treasured piece of furniture that will be an heirloom for years to come. I hope you enjoy my website.
Thank you for your patronage, I look forward to working with you.
